Description:
Ardbeg An Oa is a non-age-statement Islay single malt that combines whisky matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry, virgin charred oak and ex-bourbon casks. The different cask styles are married in Ardbeg’s Gathering Vat, creating a rounded and approachable expression that balances the distillery’s signature peat smoke with creamy sweetness, dark chocolate, spice and subtle coastal character. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled at 46.6% ABV.
TASTING NOTES
• Nose - Rounded and smoky, with burning applewood, creamy toffee, aniseed, treacle and dates, followed by peach, banana and subtle briny seaweed notes.
• Taste - Smooth and creamy, with milk chocolate, treacle toffee, aniseed, orange and smoky tea leaves, complemented by cinnamon, nutmeg and gentle cigar smoke.
• Finish - Long and lingering, with aniseed, hickory smoke, mint toffee and soft malty biscuit notes.
