Description: The white Gavi di Gavi is one of the special wines of the region, and has since been elevated to the super appellation DOCG. It is a wine that can age remarkably well. It owes this character to a combination of a powerful character with a lively acidity. The grape at the base of the wine is the Cortese, one of the special local grapes of Piemonte. A unique grape variety that we do not find anywhere else. The grapes ripen late, and are usually not harvested until early October. A low temperature fermentation and a short aging in stainless steel guarantee a wine with maximum fruit and freshness.
Tasting Notes: Fresh, clean spicy fragrancy, salty, ripen fruit and rich, good complex flavor. Great ageing potential.
