Description
This 2023 Chardonnay comes from free-draining stony soils of the Gimblett Gravels, allowing concentration and ripeness even in challenging vintage conditions. The wine was hand-harvested, gently pressed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak (a mix of large puncheons and barriques). Malolactic fermentation was used to soften acidity and build richness, followed by extended lees ageing for texture and complexity.

TASTING NOTES
Nose:
Fragrant aromas of citrus blossom, white nectarines, lime zest and yellow stone fruits, with hints of toasted nuts, flinty minerality and subtle savoury spice from oak influence.
Taste:
Full-bodied yet refined on the palate with vibrant citrus and stone fruit flavours (nectarine, baked apple and lemon pith), supported by fine lees creaminess, integrated oak, and a textural richness.
Finish:
Long, balanced and lingering with salivating acidity and gentle savoury toast, nut and flint notes that extend beyond the fruit core.
